I’m born and bred LA, so when friends come into town looking to do all of the quintessential Los Angeles things, I have the perfect itinerary ready. Read on to discover my suggestions for food, fashion, and everything in between for the perfect Saturday or Sunday plan.
9:00 AM: Breakfast at Great White, Venice
This cute little cafe on Abbot Kinney not only serves up delicious breakfast foods, but also does it with style. Trust me, you won’t leave this place without at least one new Instagram photo.
10:30 AM: Matcha To-Go from Erewhon
This LA staple grocery chain is almost as good as fashion week is for people watching. It oozes California cool and is a must-visit for all of the speciality foods it carries. Inside also lives a tonic bar where you can grab a coconut milk matcha latte or that will fuel your walk around the Abbot Kinney shops.
10:45 AM: Stroll Around Abbot Kinney Boulevard
Leading down to the Pacific and peppered with adorable boutiques that boast unique finds, you’d be remiss not to explore this quaint street while in Venice.
12:00 PM: Pencil in a Workout at My Hot Pilates
Make your way over to West Hollywood and sweat it out at MyPilates—one of the chicest studios in the neighborhood.
1:30 PM: Continue the Self-Care at Pellequr
A visit to LA isn’t complete without a stop at Pellequr for a Korean body scrub/lymphatic drainage treatment.
3:00 PM: Shopping and Juice/Tea on Melrose Place
Melrose Place is a tree-lined and luxury fashion-studded street in West Hollywood. Stops at Violet Grey, Mansur Gavriel, Elodie K, and The Row are musts. If you’re in need of a pick-me-up, Alfred Coffee has a tiny, pink tea outpost here, as does Moon Juice.
4:00 PM: Shopping at Platform
This wouldn’t be an itinerary for the style-obsessed if it didn’t have at least three shopping activities. Platform is a brand-new, indoor/outdoor shopping experience in Culver City. And before you balk; it’s not a mall (at least to me). Stop by Janessa Leone, Tom Dixon, or any one of the multiple pop-up shops that call Platform home-for-now. One of my favorite style influencers, Jacey Duprie of Damsel in Dior, will be opening a pop-up here that I cannot wait to check out.
6:00 PM: Dinner at Gjelina
This LA classic is always packed, so come close to when it opens (5:30) so you can sit outside on the back patio. Dinner in LA is early, anyway!
8:00 PM: Ice Cream from Salt & Straw
Since you’ll already be in the neighborhood, grab dessert here. They always have new flavors (and there’s always a line).
